University of Louisville Engagement

The air is crisp these days and I am reminded that fall is right around the corner. With that come comfy sweaters and high boots, which are just a couple of the elements that make this shoot so cozy and inviting. Enjoy this University of Louisville Engagement by We Choose the Moon Photography!

How they met: “We were both in the music school at University of Louisville. We had many classes and ensembles together but never spoke to each other until our sophomore year in 2012. Kristian claims he would always try to get my attention from the trumpet section but I was in the percussion section in the back; needless to say, I never noticed. Luckily, we had mutual friends so we started to run in the same crowd of people and we had our first date on Independence Day 2014.”

How he proposed: “It was Labor Day weekend 2016. Kristian surprised me with a weekend trip to West Baden Springs Hotel in French Lick, IN. There was a fabulous dinner, live music, the whole nine yards. He then suggested we go outside for a nice walk through the gorgeous courtyards. Turns out, it was a ruse to get me outside. Instead, there was a horse & carriage waiting for us! I got the feeling something was up at this point because the first time he said “I love you” to me was on a carriage ride in the middle of a winter wonderland. We rode in the carriage for quite sometime enjoying the beautiful grounds of the West Baden Springs Hotel. We we got to the front entry gates the carriage driver asked if we would like to get off and take a picture. Kristian said yes and handed him his phone and helped me down. When we were al set to have our picture taken, Kristian knelt down and asked me to marry him. I immediately said yes and start crying. I was so happy!”

“We choose to get our photos done at UofL because it’s where we met and spent almost every day together. It played such a major role in our relationship. From classes, ensembles, marching band, & just hanging out there daily; it just seemed fitting to document where such a major part of our lives happened. We also chose to get some shots at the Falls of the Ohio State Park in Indiana because of the breathtaking view of downtown Louisville. We just felt it was important to try and incorporate the city we fell in love in into our photos.”

Favorite Memory From This Location: “Aimee: My favorite memory with Kristian is our walk to school everyday. We lived relatively close to each other most of our college life. We would meet up when our schedules allowed and walk to class together. Each day, Kristian would pick a flower from the always blooming bushes all over campus and give it to me. I’m still forever finding dried roses in all of my purses and book bags.
Kristian: One of my fondest memories of UofL with Aimee is when she made a special effort to support me in my recital on trumpet. She wore a dress she made herself and brought me a boutineer to wear for my performance. I have never been with someone so loving and supporting. UofL reminds me of that.”
